Bioinicia S.L. (BIOINICIA) is currently an engineering company dedicated to the development and manufacturing of equipment to fabricate novel and nanomaterials. Additionally, BIOINICIA offers consulting regarding materials and process development services to universities, research centres and industry. BIOINICIA was founded in June 2009 as a consulting company in the field of equipment engineering for nanotechnology and became a technological SME in 2012 after incorporating scientists and technologists, engineers and managers from different fields and countries.
Our mission is to develop, manufacture and commercialise products and services based on hydrodynamic atomisation processes (HDA), having a special focus on the Food, Pharma, Biomedical and Cosmetic industries. Our company vision is to become a worldwide leader in the development, manufacturing and marketing of products and services using our own proprietary HDA technology. Our engineering brand Fluidnatek® was created in 2012. This brand comprises the design and fit for purpose manufacturing of a unique range of laboratory, pilot plant and pilot line equipment.
At the end of 2016 Bioinicia built the first worldwide GMP industrial manufacturing Plant based in electrospinning dedicated to Pharma and Biomedical products. During the first mid of 2017 it will get certified GMP and ISO 13485.
Key persons involved
Mr. José Manuel Valle – CEO & COO Mr. Valle has a degree in Industrial Engineering (master in Mechanical Engineering) from the Polytechnic University of Valencia. He has spent his last 20 years in multiple multinational chemical companies (Ferro Spain, Rohm & Haas, Dow chemical or Akzo Nobel), assuming different roles in the area of operations. Initially focused in engineering and process control (with different roles, ending as European Technology Manager), his responsibilities extended to the managing area, assuming roles like Plant and Site manager or Sole administrator for Spain. As main tasks he performed, plant and capex budget elaboration and control, processes and costs optimization, cost control, and business support and coordination in different areas. In the last 5 years he has been actively collaborating with different high tech start-up companies.
Mrs. Sara Castelló; – Project Manager Mrs. Castelló holds a degree in Food Science and Technology and a Master in Agricultural Chemistry and New Functional Foods. She has 10 years of experience managing and coordinating EU projects (e.g. BioliSME, PHBottle, Eco3cip, e-skill, GreenPoint). She has also been workpackage leader in OptiNanoPro, Knowledge2Innovation, Ozonecip and the HELENA Study projects. Fort the last 10 years she has participated in research projects dealing with upgrading, food biotechnology and development of bioactive ingredients.
Dr. María Busolo - R&D Manager Dr. Busolo obtained her Master in Sustainable Chemistry by studying biodegradable electrospun nanofibers (Polytechnic University of Valencia, 2008). Later she received her Ph.D. in Chemistry by developing antimicrobial, antioxidant and oxygen scavenger nanocomposites (Jaume I University, 2013). From 2008 to 2015 she was exerting as Project Leader in Nanobiomatters R&D Dept., for the development of active nanomaterials for food packaging and functional food applications. On 2016 joined the Bioinicia R&D Department, where she currently plays as R&D Manager in the field of electrohydrodynamic techniques for food and pharma products. Between 1996 and 2005 she held research positions in the oil and consumer goods industries. Dr. Busolo has writen 16 technical articles, 4 scientific book chapters, one granted patent and 4 patent applications; and has contributed over 10 conferences.
